NSRP MANAGEMENT BOARD PAID A VISIT TO VIETNAM NATIONAL UNION OF OIL AND GAS WORKERS

(PetroTimes) – On June 28, at Vietnam National Union of Oil and Gas Workers (VNUOGW) Head Office (18 Lang Ha Street, Hanoi), NSRP Management Board led by General Director Mr. Shitaro Ishida paid a courtesy visit to Management Board of VNUOGW.

Ms. Nghiem Thuy Lan – Member of Management Board of Vietnamese General Trade Union, Chairwoman of Vietnam National Union of Oil and Gas Workers; Mr. Nguyen Manh Kha, vice chairman of VNUOGW and other managers at VNUOGW welcomed and met with the NSRP delegation.

In the meeting, NSRP General Director Mr. Shitaro Ishia updated VNUOGW on the operation of NSRP. He said NSRP has completed construction, commissioning, and entered the initial stage of commercial operation phase. NSRP General Director expressed his focus about enhancement of relationship between the Company NSRP and employees, especially the understanding of employee’s concerns. Mr. Ishisa also said that NSRP have paid a lot of attention to labor safety for all employees and this is NSRP’s priority at the moment as well.

Mr. Ishida expressed his appreciation of roles of Trade Union in strengthening relationship between employer and employees since Trade Union is legal representatives of employees. The General Director showed his desire to learn experience from VNUOGW in matters such as safety, increasing relations between employer and employees and empowering workers.

On behalf of Management Board of VNUOGW, Chairwoman Ms. Nghiem Thuy Lan received and welcomed representatives from NSRP and congratulated to Mr. Ishida as NSRP new General Director and Mr. Khaled Albader as new Deputy General Director.

Chairwoman Ms. Nghiem Thuy Lan sent a sincere thank to NSRP Management Board for the courtesy visit and effective cooperation between two organizations so far. Ms. Lan was pleased to share that VNUOGW now has nearly 60 thousand members operating in 37 member Trade Unions cross Vietnam. VNUOGW is a member of Vietnamese General Trade Union and an official member of International Industrial Trade Union. VNUOGW has focused on building harmony relations between employers and employees in enterprises, increasing role-model movements to encourage workers and drawing attention of workers to labor safety. Several member Trade Unions have succeeded in labor safety practice such as Binh Son Refinery (BSR), PV Gas, and VPS.

Besides, one of the roles of VNOUGW is to support member Trade Unions in establishment of Collective Bargaining Agreement, encouraging workers to comply with labor rules, and discipline regulations. VNOUGW also plays an important role in building and spreading Petrovietnam culture by implementing a variety of activities including Petrovietnam culture weeks, emulation events, or role-model movements. VNOUGW organized events to strengthen effective cooperation amongst member Trade Unions and with more than 20 International Trade Unions in different countries as well.

Ms. Nghiem Thuy Lan emphasized VNOUGW always guided and instructed NSRP Trade Union to ensure that activities by NSRP Trade Union comply with law, regulations, align with master plan of VNOUGW and are well informed to NSRP Management.

On behalf of NSRP Management Board, General Director Mr. Shitaro Ishida highly appreciated the warm welcome of VNOUGW. During this visit, NSRP have learned more about approaches and activities to improve employee’s spiritual lives and material lives. He strongly believed that labor safety in Vietnam in general and in NSRP in particularly, will be significantly improved with strong support from VNOUGW.

Mr. Shitaro Ishida confirmed NSRP have been spending strong effort on building the solidarity and effective cooperation with VNOUGW.
