Berth Master is responsible for shipping/loading activity at the Jetty / SPM in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with established operating procedures and written and oral instruction from Section Manager, Deputy Section Manager and shift supervisor.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for execution of shipping operations, receiving / shipping operation plan and ensures manpower availability in carrying out tasks according to plans
· Responsible for supervision of the Jetty / SPM team leader, Jetty / SPM team staffs and outsourcing company.
· Responsible for vetting / arrival inspection of ship.
· Responsible for negotiation, application, communication with Local authority for all of relevant issues.
· Monitor the operating conditions constantly to ensure the quick resolution of abnormal operational situations.
· Develop the operation tasks lists, operation rounds and Jetty / SPM operation reporting, and validates the day-to-day maintenance plan.
· Responsible for actively support and foster the safety culture and best practices and support the Marine Operation Safety Activities initiatives.
· In the event of any incidents, evaluates the root causes and determines remedial actions and involves the section manager, deputy section manager and shift supervisor when necessary.
· Take the lead in emergency response situations, in close cooperation with the shift supervisor and deputy section manager.
· Administer the Jetty / SPM team, including overtime, leave requests, team swaps and the vacation schedule as well as monitoring Jetty / SPM team training and generating development plans and performance appraisals.
· Responsible for continuous evaluation of the Jetty / SPM team staffs to ensure that they fully understand and effectively carry out their responsibilities.
· Participate in the development of training programs as well as building up the operation team and ensuring their competence for the tasks in the assigned area.

Educational Level: University Graduated, or holder of recognized Class 3 Marine Certificate Of Competency
Work Experience: Min 10 years operation experience in shipping & receiving of Petroleum / Petrochemical products or Equivalent
Specialty/Qualification: A bachelor’s degree in marine science, marine technology or equivalent
Skills:
– Excellent marine science, marine technology knowledge
– Excellent knowledge and understanding of marine facilities design and Jetty / SPM operation and maintenance.
– Knowledgeable with International Maritime Organization (IMO) & Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) regulations & requirements
– Proficient skills of shipping and receiving operation.
– Report writing and presentation skills
– English skills IELTS 5.0
– Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
