– Provide support services to Technical Division and to advice the less experienced engineer in the divisions.
The advisors work very close with the engineering staff to convey their advice to all operating staff.
-Support to prepare comprehensive instrumentation design packages. Troubleshoot control systems.
-Improve refinery profitability through control development, support, and maintenance by delivering the highest
possible value from operation of process units within equipment constraints. This role contributes technical.
expertise required to ensure that regulatory and advanced controls are properly designed and functioning to
maximize value.
-Investigate plant and equipment trips and provide remedial engineering recommendations.
– Evaluate the desired goal of the system and develops, designs, or selects the required equipment or controls to
achieve the goal.
– Maintains and improves off-line operator training simulator.
-Prepare conceptual design for control system and engineering budgetary cost estimates.
-Provide technical support with regards to process control systems. Recommend modifications to improve the
performance of process control
-Communicate with Process Control vendors and technical consultants to resolve complex issues concerning
new technology and upgrades them.
-Review company engineering standards and participate in standards reviews committees..
-Develop standards and establish guidelines for preventive, breakdown and predictive maintenance activities.
Update the engineering standards as needed in order to ensure that all new equipment is engineered and
purchased with the safest and best technology available.
-Provide controls engineering services during turnaround activities.
-Guide, direct and motivate the less experienced engineers and operators including setting education and
training and assessing their performance in association with their superior and the Human Resources Section

– Experience required minimum 10 years in relevant section of Refinery with prior
experience in DCS and engaged in actual field operation for 2 year which
includes not only routine operation but also troubleshooting, trial operation,
preparation for daily and turnaround maintenance.
– A bachelor’s degree in Control, Electrical and Electronic, chemistry, or equivalent
– Skills:
+ Knowledgeable with the industrial standards and code requirements for process
control systems, especially Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Oil Movement
and Storage System (OMS), Terminal Automation System (TAS), Product
Blending Control System (PBCS), etc.
+ Excellent Knowledge of Advanced Process Control (APC), in addition, Model
Predictive Control (MPC) is more desirable.
+ Have field experience in designing and applying process control systems,
especially APC, for industrial facilities.
+ Have experience in DMC3 of Anspen Tech
+ Capable to effectively review and improve process control system functions.
