2024 Community Health Development Project underscores NSRP’s strong commitment to social impact

On April 28, 2025, at the People’s Committee Hall of Tinh Hai Ward (Nghi Son District), Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical LLC (NSRP), in collaboration with the Tinh Hai Ward People’s Committee, successfully held the closing workshop of the 2024 Community Health Development Project. The event marked the official completion of a project that ran from November 2024 to April 2025.

As one of NSRP’s flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the project aimed to improve healthcare quality for communities surrounding the refinery. It was implemented in Mai Lam Ward, Tinh Hai Ward, and Nghi Son Commune, with medical expertise provided by Hop Luc General Hospital. 

After six months of implementation, the project was completed on schedule, meeting and exceeding initial targets. It received strong support and positive feedback from local authorities and residents. 

Key highlights of the project include: 

These screenings enabled early detection of potential health issues, empowering the community to take proactive steps in personal healthcare.

These screenings enabled early detection of potential health issues, empowering the community to take proactive steps in personal healthcare. 

Alongside medical services, NSRP launched two environmental sanitation and dengue prevention campaigns across Mai Lam ward, Tinh Hai ward, and Nghi Son commune. The first round took place in December 2024, and the second from March to April 2025. More than 12,000 turns of households benefited from mosquito-control chemical spraying, contributing to effective disease prevention efforts in the area.

As part of the project, NSRP also organized a “Nutrition Knowledge and Practice” competition for women in Mai Lam and Tinh Hai. The initiative provided a valuable platform to raise awareness and equip participants with essential knowledge and skills in nutrition, enhancing the well-being of both individuals and families. The event saw enthusiastic participation and received high praise from the community.

In addition to direct healthcare support, NSRP donated essential medical equipment to grassroots health stations in Mai Lam and Tinh Hai, including:

At the closing workshop, Mr. Hiroaki Honjo – Administration and Corporate Affairs Department Manager at NSRP – remarked: “We believe this Community Health Development Project plays a meaningful role in enhancing health awareness and self-care capacity among local residents, ultimately improving quality of life. This initiative reflects NSRP’s long-term commitment to the local community, true to our motto: ‘Trusted partner, friendly neighbor.’”

Mr. Mai Sy Lan – Vice Chairman of the Nghi Son District People’s Committee – also commended NSRP’s efforts, especially in the field of public health. He emphasized that since 2016, NSRP has not only contributed to economic development but has also remained a steadfast partner in social welfare and healthcare improvement.
