Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical LLC granted breeding cows to vulnerable households

On 31st August 2020, Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical LLC (NSRP) cooperated with Nghi Son Farmers’ Union (NSFU) to grant 35 breeding cows to 35 vulnerable households in project neighboring commune/wards of Hai Yen, Tinh Hai and Mai Lam.

The ceremony witnessed the attendance of Mr. Truong Ba Duyen, Deputy Party Leader cum Vice Chairman of Nghi Son District People’s Committee; Mr. Le Nguyen Quoc Vinh, NSRP Deputy General Director; representatives of local authorities, Farmer Union, and beneficiary households in 03 communes/wards.

At the ceremony, representatives of NSRP, Nghi Son District People Committee, Farmer Union and local authorities granted breeding cows to 35 vulnerable in 07 neighboring villages of Bac Yen village, Hai Yen commune; Trung Son and Lien Vinh village, Tinh Hai ward; Kim Phu, Tan Thanh, Kim Son, Huu Lai villages, Mai Lam wards. Before handing-over cows, NSRP cooperated with Famer Union and Local authorities to visit 35 households to check the breeding facilities condition. Thus, 35 beneficiary households were provided with training on cow-raising technique by NSFU and cow supplier.

Mrs. Le Thi Tam, Kim Phu village, Mai Lam ward, one of 35 beneficiary households shared: “On behalf of 35 households, I would like to send the special thanks to NSRP and local authority for granting us the breeding cows. It is very meaningful activity to vulnerable households like us. I will try my best to take care and raise this cow to improve our livelihood”

Beneficiary households are prepared to receive cows from project

The Cow granting ceremony is one of the activities of Community In-kind Support project, which belongs to NSRP Strategic Social Investment (SSI) Program established and started in 2014. The project is designed to promote livelihood restoration for vulnerable and/or declining project neighboring households who still have labor ability in fence-line and proximity villages. Besides that, it is an opportunity to enhance NSRP’s public reputation and acceptance within neighboring communities as a “good neighbor” by increasing positive visibility and image of NSRP.
