Minister of Industry and Trade of Laos visits Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical (NSRP)

On December 26, within the framework of the working visit to Vietnam, Lao Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Malaythong Commasit, paid a visit to NSRP.

Receiving the delegation of the Lao’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), on behalf of Vietnam MoIT, there were Mr. Do Quoc Hung, Deputy Director of the Asia-Africa Market Department; Ms. Ngo Thuy Quynh, Deputy Director of Petroleum and Coal Department. On behalf of Thanh Hoa province, there were Mr. Nguyen Tien Hieu, Head of the Management Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone and Industrial Parks of Thanh Hoa Province; Mr. Pham Ba Oai, Director of Thanh Hoa Department of Industry and Trade (TH DoIT).

At the visit, Lao Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Malaythong Commasit thanked the leaders of the MoIT of Vietnam, leaders of NSRP, Director of TH DoIT facilitated the delegation to visit NSRP. In this visit, he wished to learn about NSRP and expressed the desire to cooperate in the supply of petroleum to Lao in the near future.

In response to the Lao Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Le Nguyen Quoc Vinh, Deputy General Director cum General Manager Refinery of NSRP gave an overview of the construction and development process of NSRP.

Accordingly, NSRP is located in Nghi Son Economic Zone – one of eight key coastal economic zones and a national key for oil and gas, in order to implement the socio-economic development strategy and ensure Vietnam’s energy security.

Lao’s MoIT delegation visited and met with NSRP Leaders

After listening to the overall presentation about the formation and development process of NSRP, the delegation of the Lao MoIT led by Minster Mr. Malaythong Commasit visited the processing units of NSRP refinery and wrapped up their working visit in Vietnam.
