Responsibilities

The Safety Equipment Officer  will support the Safety Equipment & Promotion Leader & Safety Equipment Engineer in developing and implementing equipment safety inspection activities as well as support other activities under Safety Equipment & Promotion Team that help improve safety culture, ensure legal compliance in NSRP.

  • Daily Safety Tool & equipment Inspection:
    – Conduct physical inspections of tools, vehicles, and equipment entering the plant, ensuring compliance with established procedures and safety standards.
    – Verify that all required documentation for vehicles, tools, and equipment aligns with approved safety procedures.;
    – Prepare inspection schedules, issue compliance stickers, and maintain accurate records of approved equipment.
  • Maintenance & Repair of Gas Detection Systems:
    –  Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning gas detectors to ensure continuous functionality and safety compliance.
    –  Perform timely replacement of consumable parts in gas detectors, such as sensors and batteries, to maintain optimal performance.
    –  Regularly inspect gas detectors for any signs of wear or damage and take immediate corrective actions.
  • Documentation & Procedure Support:
     Assist in drafting and updating procedures, checklists, and standards for the inspection of tools and equipment, ensuring compliance with NSRP and Vietnamese regulations.
    – Maintain systematic records of inspection reports and related safety documentation for audits and reviews.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    – Support the the team to receive, deliver PPE/SPPE to end-user and conduct audit to PPE/SPPE using.
    – Contribute to the development of safety programs aimed at enhancing the safety culture within NSRP, including participation in campaigns like the SBO Program and HSE non-compliance initiatives.
    – Assist in implementing health and safety activities, working closely with the team to promote a proactive safety environment.
    – Assist in developing a systematic approach to ensure legal compliance in areas like Occupational Health & Safety and Radiation Safety.
    – Support the team in the preparation and execution of HSSE management plans and procedures.
    – Perform additional duties as assigned by the superiors.
  • Reporting
    – Daily report site Vehicle, Tools & Vehicle inspection performance.
    – Report incident, near-miss if observing.
    – Report to Leader, Manager if any safety issue, abnormality.
  • Policy and procedure
    – Develop Health & Safety related management plans and procedures under guidance of Safey Equipment & Promotion Leader,  Safety Equipment Engineer and H&S Section Managers and in conformance with NSRP LLC requirements and IFC standards.
    – Communicate, coach and monitor the implementation of safety policy & procedures.
  • Building capability of teams
    –  Fully follow the training program, competency assurance program.
    –  Daily share the observation and discuss the lesson learnt.
  • Strategy
    – Implement the assigned action items to meet yearly Health & Safety KPI.
    – Give feedback, proposal to superiors to develop or improve Health & Safety strategy and business plan
  • Project Management
    – Participate in project management if assigned by Manager.
    –  Implement safety supervision for the new project team.
Requirements

Educational Level : University graduated or above, EMajor in Electricity/ Mechanical/ Vehicle, Chemical engineering or equivalent

Work Experience:

  • At least 4-8 working experience related to HSSE field in Oil & Gas project or similar heavy industry companies.
  • Have at least 02-year experience in safety personnel position & experience in inspection/verification activities in oil & gas industry.
  • At least 02 years experienced in maintenance or working with maintenance tool, equipment, machine, vehicle, lifting & rigging equipment (especially mobile crane), electrical equipment instalment or electrical equipment maintenance and pressure equipment at industrial project.

Skills:

  • Good work-planning and reporting skills.
  • Good writing and communication skills in both writing and verbal.
  • Working under pressure in a multicultural & English-speaking environment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings;
  • Ability to work independently and be a team player.
  • Competent English user– equal to TOEIC score of 605 or higher.
  • Understandings & experience in compliance with Vietnamese Laws & Regulations in the field of equipment safety inspection.
  • Experience in Health & Safety supervision, safety inspection for tools and equipment.
  • Technical knowledge on Mechanical/Electrical/Vehicles/Lifting and Rigging safety following international standards and legal requirements.
