NSRP conducted community activities on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival 2020

In 2020, despite facing many difficulties in production and business activities due to effect of domestic and foreign market conditions as well as negative impacts from the Covid-19 pandemic, NSRP has been always tried to maintain care for the neighboring community.

In the joyful and excited atmosphere to welcome the new school year of 2020-2021 and bustling atmosphere from the children nationwide to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival 2020, Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical LLC (NSRP) had implemented a number of meaningful activities within the Mid-Autumn program including: giving mid-autumn gifts to children in Mai Lam, Tinh Hai, Bac Yen kindergartens, giving 80 gifts to orphans, disabled children and at the same time organizing the “Full moon Festival” outdoor event for all children and people in the fence-line communities. Specifically:

From September 29th to October 1st, 2020, 960 gifts including uniforms and foam carpets for kindergarten children were delivered to kindergartens in Mai Lam ward, Tinh Hai ward and Bac Yen village – Hai Yen commune.

On the morning of September 30th at Nghi Son Convention Center, NSRP was honored, via the Nghi Son Association for Orphan and Handicapped children, to give 56 gifts to disabled, orphaned, and children with extremely difficult circumstances in the mountainous communes, coastal communes, islands and 4 affected communes and simultaneously present directly 24 gifts to 24 extremely difficult children in Mai Lam, Hai Yen, Tinh Hai, Nguyen Binh, Nghi Son, Hai Thuong and Hai Ha.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le The Ky – Chairman of Nghi Son Association for Orphan and Handicapped children acknowledged the positive contribution of agencies, unions, and businesses in the town, especially the great contribution from NSRP over the past years to support orphans and handicapped children to study well and he hoped NSRP would continue long-term support to this meaningful activity.

On the evening of the same day, with collaboration of the People’s Committee of Mai Lam ward, the outdoor event “Full Moon Festival” was successfully organized with enthusiastic participation of thousands of children and people from Mai Lam ward and surrounding communes/wards. Many art performances, traditional lion dance, or exchange part with Chú Cuội and Chị Hằng brought them a festival full of joy and laughter.

The Mid-Autumn Festival activities implemented annually by NSRP have been deeply appreciated by the local authorities and the community.

“In addition to Strategic Social Investment (SSI) programs for people in the neighboring area over the last  years, this activity is seen as another proof of long-term companionship of NSRP for the positive and sustainable development of the community, especially those directly affected by the Project’s construction.” – NSRP representative confirmed.
