On the afternoon of November 18, 2022, Nghi Son Refinery and Petroleum LLC (NSRP) held a ceremony to commemorate 365 safe working days, which equates to over 6.5 million safe working hours without lost time injury (LTI)

This was such a remarkable and meaningful milestone to NSRP and all employees of the company as well as its contractors. The celebration event aimed to appreciate and recognize the active and effective contribution of employees to the overall safety incredible result that NSRP has achieved in the past year.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of Mr. Le Nguyen Quoc Vinh – NSRP Deputy General Director and General Manager of the Refinery, Mr. Nguyen Hong Duc – Acting HSE Division Manager, Mr. Ton Weilers – Executive Advisor to General Director, Mr. Shigeru Matsuda – Human Resources Manager, Mr. Ryoji Nakamura – Administration and Public Relations Manager, Mr. Jan Kusche – Maintenance Division Manager, Mr. TZ Joubert – Asset Integrity Division Manager, along with more than 500 guests, representing the contractors and employees working at NSRP refinery.

Overall the ceremony

During one year of operating the refinery with a very large and high-risk workload such as daily and periodic maintenance activities, catalyst changes, etc., the HSE Division of the Company has not recorded any incidents affecting the safety, lives, or health of the employees.

This has clearly demonstrated strong commitment and dedication of the Company’s Management, Managers at all levels, employees of NSRP and contractors to creating and maintaining a safe working environment. This will be a significant stepping-stone for all employees who have been working at NSRP to continue towards greater milestones in occupational safety, as well as a strong motivation for the Company and all employees on the journey to strive to become the top Asian refinery with the best safety record.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Nguyen Quoc Vinh, NSRP DGD cum GMR affirmed: “The milestone of 365 safe working days without LTI can be considered an outstanding achievement of NSRP after 4 years of commercial operation. It is not luck that help us achieve this result but the commitment to safety of everyone who have been passing through the Refinery gates. We are working together to strive days and nights to ensure safety and national energy security. Each of us, either NSRP employees or contractors, is an important link to our success today. I would like to take this opportunity to send my most sincere thanks to everyone. I hope this is a steppingstone for us to not only stop at the milestone of 365 days – 1 year but also 5 years, or 10 years of achievement in safe works ahead.”

Also at the ceremony, the NSRP Management awarded certificates of merit and trophies to 37 contractors working at NSRP and 19 individuals from departments in the Company as well as contractors with outstanding achievements and significant contributions to the milestone of maintaining 1 year of safe operation.

Closing the ceremony, representative of NSRP Management reaffirmed the Company’s strict commitment to the message “Safety First” and directed, motivated contractors and employees toward the goal of safe operation in the next phase, particularly for the first turnaround to be implemented safely and efficiently.
