Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh, Head of the State Steering Committee for the key oil and gas projects has just signed Decision No. 11/QD-BCDNNDK dated January 19, 2022 promulgating the Operational Regulations of the Steering Committee for assisting the Government and Prime Minister to direct implementing the key oil and gas projects.

The tasks, powers and compositions of the State Steering Committee are regulated in Decision No 1455/QĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister, dated September 02, 2021.

The Head, Deputy Head and Members of the State Steering Committee work on a part-time basis, the Steering Committee works on the principle of concentration and unity, the members of the Steering Committee are responsible for the assigned activities.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade is the standing agency of the State Steering Committee for key oil and gas projects.

The Steering Committee assigns each member to coordinate with ministries, agencies and local authorities in inspection of implementing promulgated mechanisms and policies; proposing to supplement, amend or develop the new mechanisms, policies and solutions suitable to the functions and tasks of the ministries, agencies and localities to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Prime Minister. The Steering Committee is the focal point to coordinate and direct the activities of the ministries, agencies and localities in performing the set tasks so that the investment in the key oil and gas projects would be ensured to be completed in time with a safe, quality and efficiency.

The Regulations also specify the responsibilities of the members of the Steering Committee.
