[Nghi Son, Thanh Hoa, Vietnam], [July, 1st, 2024] – Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical LLC (NSRP) today announced the appointment of Mr. Kazutaka Yamato as the new General Director of the company, effective from July 1st, 2024.
Mr. Yamato brings nearly 30 years of extensive experience in the global petroleum and petrochemicals industry to his new role. Prior to joining NSRP, he held senior leadership positions at Idemitsu Kosan Co.,Ltd. (IKC) and Idemitsu Vietnam (IKCV) where he successfully drove operational excellence, strategic expansion, and sustainable growth.
In his new role, Mr. Yamato will oversee all aspects of NSRP’s business and operations. He will work closely with the company’s experienced management team to further enhance NSRP’s operational efficiency and drive continuous improvements across the company.

His extensive industry expertise and strategic vision will be crucial in guiding NSRP through its next phase of growth and transformation.
About NSRP
NSRP is a joint venture established in 2008, sponsored by Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), Kuwait Petroleum Europe (KPE), Idemitsu Kosan (IKC), and Mitsui Chemicals (MCI). It is located in the Nghi Son Economic Zone in Thanh Hoa Province, Vietnam.
This largest oil and petrochemical refinery in Vietnam has a processing capacity of 200,000 barrels of crude oil per day (equivalent to 10 million tons per year).
NSRP is a major supplier of refined products to the Vietnamese market. It also exports select petrochemical products to other countries in the region. NSRP is committed to providing its customers with a reliable supply of products at competitive prices.
