NSRP resumes full capacity of the refinery after completion of repair works in RFCC unit

On January 15, 2023, Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical LLC (NSRP) has resumed normal operation of the refinery at 100% capacity after completion of repair works in the residual fluid catalytic cracking (RFCC) unit.

Earlier, due to a leakage at the expansion joint of regenerator section in the RFCC unit, which was detected on December 28, 2022, NSRP had to temporarily shut down the RFCC unit for repair. During this period, operations of the crude oil distillation (CDU) and other processing units were maintained at lower capacity (about 85%).

On behalf of the Management Board, Mr. Le Nguyen Quoc Vinh – Deputy General Director cum General Manager of the refinery shared: “We would like to affirm the normal operation of NSRP refinery and commit to ensure sufficient supply of fuel products to meet the market demand before, during and after the Vietnamese Lunar New Year. In addition, the Company will actively maintain high capacity of the refinery prior to the Turnaround Maintenance in August to compensate partially for the shortfall of product during such maintenance period, contributing to the adequate and timely supply for the domestic market and national energy security”.
