On November 25, 2021, the workshop to kick-off the Education Support (EDS) project in 2021, sponsored by Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical LLC (NSRP), was successfully organized at Mai Lam secondary school in Mai Lam ward, Nghi Son District.

The workshop witnessed the participation of representatives of NSRP Social & Community Section Mr. Trinh Xuan Duc – Deputy Section Manager, representatives of local authorities, including Ms. Vu Thi Thanh Van, Head of Nghi Son District’s Education and Training Department, Mr. Cao Van Tinh – Party Committee Secretary of Hai Yen commune, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam – Vice chairman of Tinh Hai ward People’s Committee; representatives from International Education Center of Hong Duc University (IEC) – the project partner together with representatives from local schools that are beneficiaries from this project.
The EDS project in 2021 is implemented with the aim at supporting education for students in Mai Lam primary and secondary schools, and Tinh Hai primary and secondary schools in improving their English, life skills, and other useful knowledge. The project’s activities comprise of (i) education events covering Olympic English contests and Golden Belt Ringing Golden Belt edutainment events conducted by NSRP in-house resource, and (ii) English teaching for students of 04 secondary schools and primary schools (Tinh Hai primary school, Tinh Hai secondary school, Mai Lam primary school, Mai Lam secondary school) executed by IEC.

At the workshop, representatives of the Education and Training Department of Nghi Son District and teachers from project schools appreciated project activities, especially English class with foreign teachers. They expressed that project activities are completely consistent with the general orientation of the education and training in Vietnam and extremely practical for the local education. Local authority & school representatives thanked NSRP for conducting meaningful project which may bring positive effects to both students and the schools.
The kick-off workshop ended successfully. Through this event, local authorities and beneficiaries acknowledged remarkable contributions of NSRP to the local education mission and thanked for NSRP’s continuous support.
